The two-term Speaker of the Ado Local Government Legislative Council,
Hon. Emmanuel Ajagbo was laid to rest today, February 28, 2026, in his hometown, Ogi Ogege ward of Ado Local Government Area, Benue State, Nigeria.
Thousands of political heavyweights travel far and wide to pay their final respects to the late honorable.
Hon. Ajagbo, the immediate past two-term Speaker of the Ado Local Legislative Council, was a shining light and role model for many. Many young people looked up to him because he was able to end more than 40 years of political subjugation; for more than 40 years, no one from his Ogi community could hold an elective position or be politically stable. The late Hon. Ajagbo not only overcame political starvation, but he also served as legislative speaker for two terms and was well-liked by everyone.
He was a man of integrity, exceptional charisma, humility, and service. His community, Ogi, Ogege Ward, Ufia, Ado, and the PDP will all miss him dearly. Until his death, he was a PDP leader and aide to Senator Patrick Abba Moro, the Senate Minority Leader who represented Benue Zone C.
Honorable Ajagbo was more than just a public politician; he served as a liaison between leadership and the people. His tenure as speaker was distinguished by firmness, fairness, and unwavering dedication to democratic principles. He wields fairness and justice like a sword; his humility and deep sense of equality have earned him respect across the board and party lines.
He will certainly be missed.
May his soul rest peacefully.
