Prof. Kamene Okonjo, beloved mother of Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and revered matriarch of the Umu Obi Obahai Royal Family of Ogwashi-Uku, Delta State, has passed away at aged 96.
Mama lived a remarkable life of service, wisdom, dignity, and devotion to her family and community. Her passing is a great loss to the Okonjo family, the people of Ogwashi-Uku, and all whose lives she touched.
Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, His Royal Majesty, Obi Ifechukwude Okonjo II, the entire Okonjo family, and the wider community have lost a beloved matriarch.
May Almighty God comfort the family and grant them the strength to bear this irreparable loss.
